European Renal Pathology Course

Amsterdam, 22-24 May 2013

It is a great pleasure to invite you to the 7th European Renal Pathology Course, that will take place in Amsterdam from 22-24 May, 2013.

This three-day course has been designed for pathologists, nephrologists, paediatric nephrologists and residents in these disciplines.

During the first day, attention will be given to the newest developments and insights in renal pathophysiology, clinical nephrology and renal histopathology. The second and third day consist largely of a fully digitalized practical course - all participants will have a laptop computer at their disposal to study biopsies with virtual microscopy, immunofluorescence and electron microscopy in an integrated fashion.  During these practical sessions, the faculty will be present for discussion.

Throughout the course, the emphasis lies on the recognition of histological patterns, in combination with clinical symptoms in order to establish the diagnosis. Characteristic cases as well as more complex and rare cases will be covered.

After completion of the course, the attendants will be able to recognize the histopathological characteristics of both frequently occurring and rare renal diseases, and generate an appropriate differential diagnosis.
Since the start in 2006, this course has acquired a respectable reputation among European course offerings and has drawn attendants from over 15 different countries. A spectacular highlight is the course dinner, that traditionally takes place while cruising the famous Amsterdam canals.

We hope you will join us in Amsterdam next spring !
